When visiting a site, don't forget your personal protective equipment. Engineers going to a project site should wear appropriate boots, helmet, high-vis jacket and if necessary harness and mask.
It is required by law that employers should provide their employees who are exposed to risks to health and other hazards PPEs or personal protective equipment.
Other thing to bear in mind when visiting sites is to make sure you have enough petrol for your car, and ideally, bring your binoculars, specially if you are going to big sites. They will not only prove useful for your work but also for fun. You can enjoy sight seeing whilst at the same time doing your work if you have them with you.
